Y2 Art Resolutions: #8 – Impressions of Chicory

Real life has not left enough energy for art the past two months. But the drive is returning and engaging has brought back the desire to create. So I go back to design.

Design intrigues me because it is all about interpretation. A poetic problem of artful editing. Reducing the complexity of reality into elegant simplicity.

My latest experiment is simplifying the beautiful roadside chicory and adapting it to a bottle destined for olive oil. This has a Scandinavian sensibility and I like it. Despite stylizing, there is no question of identity and, yet, it has its own character.
