Y2 Art Resolutions #7: Creative deconstruction

imageY2 Art Resolutions is the second year of an evolving resolution to elevate every day by looking at art and creativity as life’s philosophy.

Some days the multiple dimensions of life are more than I can or want to handle. This week is like that. At such times, the simple exercise of flattening a subject into design is metaphoric. . .a practice of how to edit my view of the world and all the beckoning tasks at hand. All the nagging responsibilities. It’s like that this morning. The process of making choices in converting the dogwood I sketched this weekend into design has helped to streamline other thought and problem solving.

What joy to begin the day in an act of creation and color.
