Y2 Art Resolutions #5: Buried But Not Obscured

I could not help myself. When you begin to experiment with layering media, the evolutions can be surprising. Exhilarating. And the ideas relentless. After experimenting with a blue palette the other day, I wondered how transparent gold and warm reds would change the personality of the mediocre painting of Cortona. Transformed. Then I wondered what adding a contrasting value in complementary colored chalk/pencil would do. I’m enchanted. It makes me think of the Hobbits and other worlds. Oh, the joy in play.
