Study 102: Art Resolutions-Autumn from the Muchmore Veranda

Art Resolutions is a self-imposed initiative to create an art study every day for a year.

Autumn has descended nearly overnight and colors are glorious this year, though more subtle at Muchmore. The truth is–we need some sugar maples in our neighborhood where we see plenty of gold and yellow, but the barest of orange. And no red within view.

Last year, I captured the steep road to the Mt . Muchmore entrance. Wonderful blending of winter blues with the warm tones of fall. Today, I began working on a view from the front deck? Looking for something outside the traditional fall palette. We’ll see what happens. Here is the first layer.

This feels a bit Matisse. It is so un-fall like that I believe I am channeling my dear friend Bea’s palette on this eve of her birthday. Many happy returns, dear friend.
