Study 60: Art Resolutions-Another Redbud Expresses Itself

Art Resolutions us a self-imposed initiative to create an art study every day for a year.

Frost this morning. That seems very Wisconsin to me and not so much Cincinnati. But the colors are still here and, hopefully, my dwarf amethyst irises have strength to hold their own. At 6:45am I went back to the landscape I created day before yesterday and worked on another approach to painting the redbud trees. For my money, this one is more successful. I also like to work more quickly in watercolor, it tends to have more life that way. Less restriction. Easier, more fluid line and cleaner color. In this shot, you can appreciate how the artificial lamp light distorted the color of the previous night’s work.
