Study 39: Art Resolutions-The Peony Motif

Art Resolutions is a self-imposed initiative to create an art study every day for a year. Welcome to Study 39.

Was it the Chinese New Year or the colorless landscape? The phenomenal floral photographs of Christopher  Beane or the peony scented hand cream? Inspiration this morning is part and parcel of all. Delicate spring colors have filled my head as a respite from two sessions of snow moving and frigid temperatures yesterday. We are cottoned under a dove grey this morning and the soft subtle shades of pink peonies have filled the vacant veins of white that traverse the lawns and thoroughfares this bleak late winter day.

So to the soft blushing pinks of peonies I go. Still thinking of carpets, a central peony medallion is emerging. Who knows what it will become.
