Study 36: Art Resolutions-Grey in the Morning

Art Resolutions is a self-imposed initiative to create an art study every day for a year. Welcome to Study 36.

A touch of a bug, taxes, and snow shoveling has put me a couple behind. But as daylight slowly crept up from the southeast studio window. There was a wonderfully simple and complex image that unfolded. Grey (kitty) crawled onto my Grandma Elodie’s steamer trunk and perched herself on top of a motley assemblage of trimmed papers and art pads. She sat before a dark window and mirrored herself over a twin image layered over charcoal tree limbs and deck railing trimmed with pale dove colored snow.

In 15 minutes, dawn had broken and the multiple images were gone along with the kitty. But long enough to get a quick sketch to capture the moment.
