Creative Meditation #8: Variations on Bliss

The Creative Meditation is a new project that has grown out of last year’s “Something Beautiful” initiative. It may happen every day or when the spirit moves me.

The last two hours have been spent acting on ideas of how last week’s Brown County farm drawing could be translated into color. Bliss. The creativity scholars call this “flow.” It is my altered state of choice. Listening to music that stirs deep soulful emotions and brown co abstractfervently focused on trying to remember what my mind’s eye saw in the dark of last night and the distraction of new choices visible in the light of day. The watercolor isn’t what I saw last night but evolved in attempting the translation and acting on not too deeply considered problem solving.

It pleases me, especially when I revisit the journey to this work on this day.
