Day 331: Something Beautiful—Grateful Things

Something Beautiful is a self-imposed initiative to find a visual feast for every day of the year.

I have a long list of things for which I am grateful. Among those things is Thomas and Philip (my sons); art; music; a complex, challenging job; the means to travel; a new feline companion; good health; a haven for a home; and beautiful people in my life—many, many beautiful people.

Rosemary is one of those people. She is the personification of grace under fire. Living with a debilitating disease, she rarely speaks of the things it has taken from her. She is a living example of gratitude every day and a great reminder of all the normal activities I take for granted. Her health is fragile but her heart is hardy.  This holiday, I am grateful for the beauty she brings to my life in every moment of love and support she selflessly gives — phone calls, thoughtful messages, cards and letters, packages she finds the strength to send. I am grateful that she is in my life and in her home for this Thanksgiving.
