Day 329: Something Beautiful—A Different Brand of Beautiful

Something Beautiful is a self-imposed initiative to find a visual feast for every day of the year.

The autumn here has been spectacular this year. Some leaves still cling but the growing leafless landscape suggests muted hues and, along with the last vestiges of summer, has inspired paintings as I drive up and down muchmore road inspirationsteep hills still clinging to low brush with yellow and chartreuse leaves hanging on for  dear life. Though the photo here is not the one that inspired the idea of this painting, it is the one I referenced. I began last night and left is as a less than inspired interpretation. But today I went back in the bright sun of afternoon and began to rework. I love ideas that evolve. Still not sure I am finished, but I am pleased with it as it is and grateful for a representation of the late fall that does not feel gloomy and exudes its own kind of beauty.
