Something Beautiful is a self-imposed initiative to find a visual feast for each day of a year.
The Aussies have arrived and my tall and eldest son is in the house. Nearly all is right with the world. The Aussies are the clan belonging to one of my oldest and dearest friends, Cindy. Being the great adventuress, she left after college for a teaching job in Australia—and never returned…except, of course, for trips back to see family and friends. We promised each other long ago to take an art trip when the children were launched. So a trip long in the thinking is coming to fruition.
Cindy and one of her daughters, Esther, are here to reconvene with my boys. 17 years ago Cindy and I met in Disneyworld with our five children. A wonderful time and the beginning of friendships for our kids. A beautiful thing in its own right. Now Cindy and I will take that trip and make an other decade’s worth of memories.
They are from Brisbane. Within the first hour of arriving, Cindy reminded I have not yet come to visit her in the new homeland. And, so tonight I went looking for what I can expect and found this stunning shot of weather descending down under. Hold on to your mates and g’night, Jackeroos. Accrochez-vous à vos amis et Bonne nuit, Jackeroos.
