Day 212: Something Beautiful—Cook Inlet at Sunset

Something Beautiful is a self-imposed initiative to find a visual feast for each day of a year.

Day 13: The Alaskan Adventure

Withdrawal has set in. At 9:30pm tonight I head back to Cincinnati. Despite wanting clean clothes and my own bed, I would stay and paint — and that might last a while. A mom and baby moose finally broke the “Beware Lower 48 Woman” Advisory and showed up for late coffee down the road from my friend’s home. This after we stopped at a wildlife farm last night—last ditch attempt to see the local wildlife. Murphy’s Law.

Since the flight is late, I will make one last trip to the inlet and see if I can catch a sunset like last night. Soft, dusky evening drama. Morbido, dramma sera fosco.
