Day 175: Something Beautiful—Mare Blu Profondo

Something Beautiful is a self-imposed initiative to find a visual feast for each day of a year.

Deep blue sea. Mare blu profondo. Literally a view where the sea meets the sky in an incredible sweep of blue that envelopes the universe. Poros—another beautiful photo by Michal at Traveleum. Small wonder the ancient culture were inspired thinkers. Consider landscapes like this that provoked their thought. Breathtaking. The world which I view outside my windows this morning is lush and green. It inspires its own colorful thinking but what is it about blue that calms? Some neural receptor responds in a lucid set of biochemical reactions, but I don’t want to know about that when I gaze upon the deep blue sea.
