Day 163: Something Beautiful—Cane Nel Foro Studio

Something Beautiful is a self-imposed initiative to find a visual feast for each day of a year.

Cane Nel Foro Studio. Dog in the Hole Studio—sun rising on another beautiful day in paradise for nature lovers and setting on another session of art camp and “sister therapy.” Dear friends, Bonnie and John, have created this beautiful place as a respite—a place of joy, beauty, and a celebration of all that is good in the world. Good conversation. Good restorative activity. Good food. Good sleep. Good people.

While here, I painted a fanciful bird house. Carved a block print. Cut a sponge print. Made a monoprint screen. I learned four dye and print techniques. I created three cloth prints and six watercolor prints. Wrote a poem inspired by the work, accomplishments, and contributions of a true artist I am lucky enough to call my friend and watched other inspirational artists with one of the most important people in my world. I was Auntie Donna, friend Donna, and fellow world citizen Donna. I was part of the Neal family—and that was a beautiful thing.

For the safe haven, playground, grand company and home this week, B and John — Grazie!
