Day 129: Something Beautiful—A Portal

Something Beautiful is a self-imposed initiative to find a visual feast for each day of a year.

Gate is a simple word. And powerful. The web has given it a new life as a metaphor for openings into vast collections of information. The word has traveled far from the time in which it described a functional passage. Now it has physically transformed into a decorative pathway. Portals. They should be called “portals.” A word more exotic and grand than the utilitarian “gate.” More fitting beautiful pieces of art like this.
