Day 122: Something Beautiful—Copper Falls

Something Beautiful is a self-imposed initiative to find a visual feast for each day of a year.

Stuck. I expected to leave Wisconsin yesterday. But it was not to be. Lingering at the Lake Superior shoreline left me thinking about other places that own my heart. Little Girl’s Point. Moon Lake. The hidden and surprising Copper Falls.

Bare, exposed rock and rough, rugged waters. Artifacts of a looming mountain range that does not exist in this part of the country. Not sparkling blue waters but white foamed surges tinted with dirty peach. Rich, refreshing and darkly beautiful.
