Day 85: Something Beautiful—One More Fractal

Something Beautiful is a 2013 self-imposed initiative to find a visual feast for each day of the year.

Embroidered tenacles. Or the most intimate inspection of a snowflake. You choose. Close up the feathery flurry is more ornate, less symmetric than expected. To me it looks similar to the fine hand-tatted lace my Mother used to make. Tiny, fastidious knots — of perfectly even tension and consistent size. Icy lace flakes are wonders of the micro world. They are miniature masterpieces that dance, fly, and dazzle.
