Day 50: Something Beautiful — Something Grand

Something Beautiful is a 2013 self-imposed initiative to find a visual feast for each day of the year.

After 16 hours of driving yesterday (I missed my flight), I’m getting a late start on today’s image. But one last image of my New York excursion. Saturday night this is what I saw as I headed out of town.

The agents didn’t bend over backwards to be cordial or helpful, but it didn’t make much difference. Standing under the constellation studded ceiling, I could imagine soldiers leaving and coming home. The opening shots of “Love Actually” came to mind. People hugging, kissing, saying goodbye, eagerly arriving.

The train rocked me all the way to White Plains bringing with it memories of an overnight trip from Odessa to Moscow and much more . . .
